No mitigation considered - Arundell was always eyes on the ball, and you could see he was about to leap when the Scot takes the space.
First yellow was wrong, and this was harsh, but officials won't change their mind, but I think there was clear mitigation.

Going to be a huge ask for England now.

Lefty tighty. Get it righty.
Sorry I'm not up to speed on these newfangled cards. And I haven't actually been watching. Is Arundell off for the duration or 20? And is it a bunker thingy that could be extended.

Thought you might think that. I thought it was harsh at first but he’d made no attempt to get airborne by time Steyn had the ball in his hands. I doubt anyone would raise an eyebrow if it had been a first yellow card and you can’t be more lenient because it’s a second offence (as happens all the time with refs in football).

Arundell off for the rest of the match, England play with 14 for 20 minutes.

ITV presenter just reckoned it was a review to see if it’s a full red but pretty sure he’s wrong. I think the ref said something along the lines of it being a bunker review for a 20 minute red but that it didn’t matter as it was a second yellow anyway.

I think the officials just go, he doesn't get off the ground, therefore yellow, and don't consider anything else. Steyn was probably 3 metres back when Arundell was thinking of jumping.
I expect most officials would have given a yellow, purely for the reason above.

20 minute red aparently

Man on the telly says its 20 mins only.

Edit: But he can't return, only be replaced.

Blimey this is complicated.

I should have read @Pblakeney's post
