I see Rees-Zammit has decided to give up on American Football and return to Rugby.

Yes he never got a real go sadly. I' usre he'll be snapped up by someone back in rugby union

Interesting how few succeed despite being superficially similar sports for open field players.

It’s a numbers game.
The USA has a population of 340million and only 32 pro teams.
Europe probably has 500 pro football teams.
The competition for places is huge and you are competing against top class athletes who have played the sport since day one. And come through the very competitive college system.
And it’s actually a very technically different game. In rugby you have to run and tackle for 80mims. In NFL you are either offence or defence, so a very defined role, so may never have to tackle or catch the ball in the whole game. and you only work in 10 second explosive bursts with long rests.

There’s a whole thread on the Gloucester forum about LRZ and his return. Seems Bristol are at the front of the queue for him, and they have the money for it. It also says there that the Daily Mail are saying he has signed for that R360 thing for when that gets off the ground.

Don't remember ever seeing a test match stopped for 40 minutes due to nearby lightning strikes, as happened in today's Lions test against Australia.
Lightning within 10km and the match must be stopped and everyone off the pitch for at least 30 minutes, plus the front 9 rows of the crowd had to get under cover too.
