We were going to drive up ‘The Struggle’ yesterday, but it was closed to traffic for the ‘National Hill-Climb Championships’!

These buttons must be one of those idiotic things that are the answer to a question, that no-one has asked!!
What the heck is wrong with inserting a key, & twisting it?

completely agree

Damn!!!

About 18:20, we were set to drive back to Rydal (about 15 miles), to the ‘Badger Bar’ for tea, & a headlight bulb blew

http://www.theglenrothay.co.uk/the-badgers

There was no way, on this green earth, l was even attempting to drive on these lanes with only one working ‘dipped’ headlight (‘main-beam’ is a separate bulb)

The nearest light we can see from here is in Near Sawrey, maybe a mile away!
(we’re staying in Far Sawrey)

No street-lighting, the only light anywhere is what is given out from houses

We ended walking 250 yards to the ‘Cuckoo Brow Inn’ instead

Why were we going to drive all that way?
‘Badger Bar’ is named such, in honour of the inhabitants of the grounds, who come out most nights, as the pub feeds them

SWMBO’s Q3 has a standard ignition key, nothing wrong with that!
(if it wasn’t a Q3)
The garage I was going to use can't get one (at present)
Their supplier (who they tell me is a 'VAG' parts specialist) can't get them, & they have a list of 600 (or so) part numbers that are to all intents & purposes, impossible to get hold of, at the moment!

Free to good home, or a dodgy one. 4 Winter tyres on steel rims to suit a Fabia. Car gone and wheels are in the way. Collect from Sunny Radcliffe (near Bolton)

Managed to find one on EBay, & daughter ordered it last week
It arrived this afternoon

I would have thought that a button assembly is cheaper less complicated than a key assembly.

Btw, has a woodpecker been attacking the old push switch? ^_^

I thought a gentle press would suffice. Our only car with a push button looks new after 40k miles

Maybe l’m old-school?
Okay, not that ‘old school’, l’ve had a Land-Rover with push-button start, that was a 1969 2A!!

No, the damned thing just collapsed!

Sorted now
Curiously, over the few days, it had also started to display the effects of a discharged battery, by turning over sluggishly, before firing
(especially if left, eg; l used it today, for first time since Thursday)

I did consider that the broken/faulty ‘button’ was interrupting the process
(be it by not making a full contact, or a programmed ‘lazy start’, to indicate a problem?)

With the new switch, it’s back to normal service/starting

Washing the yeti today. This doesn't look great does it ? New wheel needed?I
The wheels are undoubtedly over-engineered, but......................, for all logical reasons, yes!
If you can find a good company that repairs high-end alloys, email with photographs, they might(??) be able to repair/refinish?
