Drop on a single furrow plough somewhere. There will be someone with just the job in a hedge near you. Makes light work of trenching. Rip it out one way, bury it the other. I’m on very sandy soil here, so the little blighters find all manner of ways to circumvent the defences.
This year’s batch seem bigger than ever - it’s like an Aardman animation on my boundaries some mornings.
Roe deer up here do all the damage. I have a tree nursery and field-scale salads / cut flowers as a sideline, and deer are beyond annoying.
My local butcher buys all the rabbits I can shoot; otherwise he has to ship in French farmed rabbits. So at least I’m saving a few freight miles? Always perilous, the green line.

Ah yes deer, hence the 6ft fence around the main cropping area.

And very tall tree guards on anything planted outside of it

Nature huh, dont you just love it :hungry:

Edit, I do have a single furrow plough, and a double, and a triple.

Ooops, I fear I may have "attachment" issues

Helping a neighbour with barley last autumn. The German made Fahr combine probably dates from the late 1960s too.

Nice

I'm sure you're, very careful, but no roll bar on the Massey, makes me a tad nervous.

I stopped bramble bashing with the flail, in good time to enjoy the sunset.

I don't believe in working til dark these days, unless it's really necessary..

There's always tomorrow

I remember the joy of operating a 3 chain flail to cut a firebreak between date plantations.

I also remember the noise it made as it picked up a length of reinforcing rod (rebar, as I believe it is also known)

Ahhh, said my overseer. I'd forgotten that that was there... 😂

It is very loud, and rather destructive too..
Ear defenders are a must..

Makes mincemeat of brambles, old brassica stalks, and rough grass.. :okay:

It also makes mincemeat of wooden stakes, and irrigation pipes I've forgotten are there too

No, but thanks, that's fine.. I have loads of old tickets..
Are our midgies still around

Me too.. I've a whole heap of Cal-mac and other tickets from various bike trips..

I'm saving them so my kids can tsk fondly at me, for sentimental hoarding when I'm gone..

Yes the midges, are still there :okay:..

Plus a bit more assorted detritus.

Ooo, ooo, and I'm on the trail of a Case 4240 that is for sale quite near to me..

Any thoughts, or experience on that model??

Pleased that our midgies are surviving ^_^
My tractor knowledge is very limited. Others, here, will no doubt be along to help soon..
