I've not seen one outside before. I thought they were always kept in the bathroom next to the toilet.

Wash your mouth out lad. There's blood on the Lancashire rose.
Yep most of it from Yorkshiremen or as we choose to call them: Losers!!

Anyway the war of the Roses was not a county war, it was a war of toffs. One of the main Lanc houses was in Pontefract, says it all really about them lancastrians
Strangely it's mainly Yorkshire people (see definition above) who say that.

From the BBC:

On BBC's Question Time programme earlier this month, the SNP's Alex Neil said the Queen was monarch in 16 countries and she would remain head of state in Scotland. Therefore he said, the union of the Crowns would remain and, thus, the Union Flag.
A flag without the Scottish element would look like this:

GC

The Queen is head of state all over the place but we do not put their flag on the union flag. The union flag should represent the elements of the union. I rather like the red and white version.
I am sure it is confusing to the world the way we are GB at the Olympics but separate teams for most other things. It is only in fairly recent times we sorted it out ourselves and started using the Cross of St George for England

That dragon looks a little camp to me: "Rwoar! I'm going to get you! Scratchy scratchy!"
Excellent work!

Here for rides.
I'd prefer white ground red cross of St George. Top left quarter welsh dragon, bottom right corner red hand of ulster. Sorted.

Keeping the St Patricks Cross when only a small part of the island of Ireland is part of new UK ?the NU-K? is a bit presumptious.

and what will we call it, the United Kingdom of Britain and Northern Ireland? The United Kingdom of England, Wales and Northern Ireland?

Also if the perfidious ones go independent like they could opt to keep the constitutional monarchy and Betty could still be Queen in theory yes?

Sounds logical...it would certainly make the flag more elegant and less 'busy'

Am I the only one who actually hates the Union Flag? I mean look at it, its a mess!
You see most other flags of the world and they are nice and clean looking..... and then you get to ours and it looks like a small explosion in a paint factory!

Don't let Cindy hear you saying that, she'll start to get ideas above her station!
