My washing machine packing up
The turbo and the brakes packing up on my car
The puncture I had on Sunday
The hole that appeared in my walking boots on Sunday
And tonight, my rear light packing up on me................

My 80 yr old Father in Law and his car. He drove into a pothole punctured his tyre which of course has no spare but a can of tyre slime and a electric pump instead. Then he annoys me more by, after telling my son off weeks ago for having no AA, we find he has AA, but no roadside assistance, lot of use that is! Cue me going to the rescue to try and resuscitate a tyre with a too big a hole in the side wall . So car has to be abandoned till the morning. Nice evening, not!

Drama Queen needed some boots for her Air Cadet combats, as cadets didn't have any of her size. Me Mum did some research, and bought her a pair of boots, which came the next day. Apparently these are the wrong sort, being parade boots designed to be bulled for hours and worn to impress tourists. So cue more googling to find the right sort.

Air Cadet squadrons up and down these fair isles produce kit lists, all of which state 'Black Combat Boots'. That's helpful. The current MoD boot contracts have 5 types of combat boot, all with two styles. Thing is, these are brown to suit the new PCS kit, whereas Drama Queen still has the older CS95 kit. So most of the army surplus boots kicking about are brown, as are the new types (which are really expensive, especially for a growing teenager). The various suppliers of this sort of kit also have copycat stuff of unknown quality. Gah! It's a good job I have a brother in law who's a Marine Sargeant, isn't it?
