Just imagine if in her rush to fix Matthews problem, she had sent the correct one round using Matthews favourite taxi driver

Seriously though Matthew, if I ran Rhyll Dominos I'd be round stuffing your crust by now.
If I ran Rhyll Dominos I'd have FAILED

Hmmm... seems Quimby was a bit of a nobber
[From Wikipedia]
As producer, Quimby became a repeated recipient of the Academy Award for Animated Short Film for the Tom and Jerry films without inviting Hanna and Barbera onstage and his name became well known due to its prominence in the cartoon credits. Even though Quimby had taken sole credit for approving and producing The Tom and Jerry series, he never actually worked on it. Besides, Quimby had a difficult relationship with animators, even with Hanna and Barbera who believed that Quimby was not fit for a real animation leader;

...unfortunately for a cartoon producer, [he had] no sense of humor to call upon... He knew nothing of animation and cartoons were a strange thing to him. Cast in the role of high school principal opposite the animators' boyish enthusiasms, he acted as liaisons between them and the front office, usually it seemed, turning down requests for bigger budgets, raises and special dispensations of funds.[4]

"Good old Thread" this...

Maybe this could have soothed the OP's ruffled feathers.

Your dad RAF?

That was a family tradition in our house, we all shouted "Good old Fred!", something that started in the mess.
Ha! A relative was - and mentioned exactly that. It was rather a generic thing though, wasn't it? Whenever FQs name appeared on the cinema screen (where most went to catch up with Pathé News and other stuff, everyone shouted out "Good Old Fred"
As a kid, I was somehow disappointed when the cartoons became 'Hannah Barbera' at the end...they lacked the life of a modern-day Domino's pizza thread etc..(sorry - off topping)

I was thinking about this post as i walked into my local PO to sort out a Postal order etc for my sons driving licence application.
Behind the screen sit two moderately serious looking women, the one i'm going to hasnt looked up as i approach...she doesnt look as though shes going to until she's ready...so i say...'Good morning ladies '
They look up...she replies 'Good Morning '
After some light hearted discussion about the cost of Postal orders etc, she suggests i use Special delivery because of the value of the PO. Fair enough, she places the SD sticker on the envelope, then i ask for a stamp...she sticks on a stamp thats about 50mm square..huge..
'I want a bigger stamp ' i say.
'You know what you can do :laugh:' she replies...

After some more light hearted banter...she asks...
'Anything else i can rob you of sir '

Me...

I told the wife about it...she said 'They're a right bunch of miserable gits in there'
I suspect they can be, i anticipated it and lighted the mood before they even began..

Just come across this thread and I must say, I've been smiling from start to finish. Love this sort of daft banter.
