Things I don't 'get' in this modern world

Instruction booklets appear to be a thing of the past. You're supposed to intuitively know how to work your smartphone without one. It might be intuitive to a teenager but it certainly isn't to me aged 52 and a half.

Even if the gizmo came with an instruction booklet, you would need an electron microscope to read the stupidly small print. FFS!

At 39 years old I feel quite blessed to have witnessed the computer revolution/ evolution and the birth of the internet.

It will be 50 years ago this year that I wrote my first computer program ...

Now my music is in the cloud with my books, I order compost and cat litter on line, get my shifts on FB

Google are partly behind the smartphone controlled central heating. They own the thermostat company.

I won it about 100 years ago at a work tennis day .... I still have loads of my old cassette tapes from the 70's and 80's and it still sounds good .... I used to use it daily when I went fishing after work (I used to live in South Africa in a place right by the beach/sea)

I often get tempted to sell it as they are fetching good money, but it has 'sentimental' value

I have to agree with DaveReading. At a push, you attended its coming of age party more but more likely its 30th.
