The dip switch in the old cars used to be a button on the floor and was operated by your foot. Sometimes they would malfunction and switch all your lights off which could be fun especially if you were going into a bend.

Stick-on heated rear windscreens which promptly came unstuck at the first hint of condensation. Water entering the floorpan at the front fixed by creating a drain-hole at the back.

Ha I remember buying my first pair of 501s in 1966 for 52/6d then doing that.

Sadly libraries used to have some really good books on all sorts of things not all have made it onto the net.

I used to go into Woolworths to the toy section and look up longly at the painted made up Airfix kits, thinking I'll get one of those one day.

Likewise the Modellers Den in Bath closed a few years ago. The only time I go to Bath now is to the Hospital.

I've got a vague recollection that my early Airfix Lanc. Might have had one.

In the infant's school we used to buy saving stamps with a picture of either Princess Anne or Prince Charles on them. I think we then stuck them into a book.
