That’s a better explanation than I had in my head. My assumption was that because they were so unstable that they kept crashing into hedges and therefore displacing the animals hogging the hedge.

Did you watch Sky Arts last night? There was a programme devoted to the Kinks and the brilliance of this album. Great group and probably one of the best thing that happened to them musically was being banned from the US for years at their peak.
