The main thing you see is dog poo if its the Trans Penine Trail/Chesterfield canal. Saw an actual wild deer swimming in the Chesterfield canal last week.

They don't call them canals over here. Maybe it's because there are too many of them and it would get a bit boring, so they're cuts, lodes and drains

I seen a grown man doing a no. 2 on the side of Newry Canal path on Friday. Right on the edge of the path, no cover at all. Fair play to him, even in his embarrassing predicament, he still called down the path to alert his wife and kids that I was approaching.
