Not so much going slower. You don't realise how much you are looking down and missing things on an upright bike. There's loads of stuff I'll see on the recumbent as your vision is much more forwards and up. But talk to friends on their road bikes and they missed it. They were too busy staring at the road and nothing more than 12 feet off the ground.
On my recumbent I pay too much attention to everything around me and I miss my turning all the time. It usually takes me twice as long to get anywhere due to the amount of u-turns I have to do!

I must look like a burglar picking his next target, as I like looking at the 'out of the way' quaint and quirky houses rather than the boring boxes that seem to be going up everywhere these days.. Converted Barns,Railway Stations,Windmills and Lock Keepers Cottages are a nice sight on a sunny day. Oh, and a view without a pylon spoiling it too.
