Riding home tonight and I made at least two errors of judgement...think it was down to tiredness as I'm normally pretty careful.
First one was coming at speed up to a roundabout (3 exits). A guy pulled out from the left but wasn't indicating. I presumed that he would come round the roundabout (after I saw that he didn't take the first exit) and come up the road that I was coming down. I carried on with my normal pace to go straight across but he wasn't taking the exit, he went right round and back on himself. I had to brake hard and swerve to miss him. Luckily, he kept momentum and went round at a fair speed and I missed him...he saw how close it was and slowed...I should have gone back and apologised but he then drove off...kicking myself as I should have slowed and made sure!
Second one was coming through a village on the way home. I could tell the driver in front wasn't confident...quite a narrow street with cars parked down the right hand lane. The driver in front of me had right of way but slammed on when a car approached....the reason it was my fault was that I was too close...I knew it the moment I realised that they were being cautious and I nearly ended up going into the back of them.
Decided that I need a break...
