It's weird, he won't interfere when someone's being killed, but seems to regularly get involved in things like curing ....

I must be getting tired I thought that said curling ;) Which kind of changes the meaning somewhat.

I'm not religious as when I was a child, Sundays were spent cycling! I really think that so long as you treat people with respect, are kind to them, help when you can and do not knowingly do harm to anyone, that is what matters in life.

Most Religious people who I have met know truly lovely people. But the pamphleters who won't take no for an answer are very very annoying!!

The opening line of the ones round my way used to be"do you think you are going to Hell?", after they realised that wasn't hooking many people they changed to "do you think you are a good person?".

There are some that stand outside the university handing out young earth creationist materials, I suppose it give the biology students a good laugh though.

Here for rides.
Every walk is littered with Godbothers, they are everywhere, in every town, on every street. Not all stand outside ranting or handing out their promotional materials but they are there. People wake up! There is a global conspiracy of Godbotherers, they are in our banks, in our parliament, no part of society is immune to their insidious influence.

Perhaps a law could be passed so that they could all be made to wear a badge on their clothes so others, who find contact with them distasteful, can identify them?;)

I think you'll find the mormons do...

I've just been out for the morning around town, and have not been bothered by a single god. I sidestepped one girl who liked like she might have been about to hand me a leaflet advertising a shop, but that was it.

Maybe I'm already doomed.

Been in a real theological quandary lately. I don't believe in God, so I also don't believe in Satan. So how does that explain the existence of Peter Mandelson?

I don't have a problem with you guys discussing religion, but it's quite an emotive subject so please keep it civil and be respectful to each other.

Thanks,
Shaun xx(

Proof that there is no such thing as 'intelligent design' as no intelligent being could want to create something so awful. Does that help? xx(

My view on religion on religion is entirely from the scientific methodology. I find it funny watching debates between scientists and religious people, there is simply no contest. I believe religion is the provider of false hope (this may be a good thing in people lives, as it makes them feel better) There are also many religions in circulation, only one of them can be correct (at the most) so which one is it?

"We are invited, brethren, most earnestly to go away from the old-fashioned belief of our forefathers because of the supposed discoveries of science. What is science? The method by which man tries to conceal his ignorance. It should not be so, but so it is. You are not to be dogmatical in theology, my brethren, it is wicked; but for scientific men it is the correct thing. You are never to assert anything very strongly; but scientists may boldly assert what they cannot prove, and may demand a faith far more credulous than any we possess. Forsooth, you and I are to take our Bibles and shape and mould our belief according to the evershifting teachings of so-called scientific men. What folly is this! Why, the march of science, falsely so called, through the world may be traced by exploded fallacies and abandoned theories. Former explorers once adored are now ridiculed; the continual wreckings of false hypotheses is a matter of universal notoriety. You may tell where the learned have encamped by the debris left behind of suppositions and theories as plentiful as broken bottles." - C.H. Spurgeon

We could go on all day, quoting various people whom support our views, I'm not interested in that. What about your views, on the whole of my last post, not the edited version you included.
