Actually Gerry Anderson has a bunch of stuff that's great, Space 1999 is one I've had on the back burner for a long time. Saw one episode where the baddy was tricked into thinking he would return to Earth, but was actually doomed to die alone. I've had that one with me for 30 years and it still scares me.

What year was 'Terrahawks' made? I stopped watching puppet shows when I left infant school, so it's most unlikely I would've watched it!!😏

I started out watching the Woodentops and Andy Pandy, then to the proper stuff as time went on. The Jerry Anderson series were filmed at a small studio in Slough I believe. Wonder if they had a David Brent type manager pulling all the strings

Andy Pandy and Spotty the dog! Such wonderful memories!🧐 You didn't mention 'Ooh flob a lob'. You must know who I mean by that.😉

Whilst I also avidly watched Captain Scarlet, as I did any and all sci-fi back then, somehow the premise seemed a bit thin even to 8 year old me. Every week the Mysterons would give notice as to their elaborate plans, as if they were setting training exercises for Spectrum. It made no sense. If they wanted to cause trouble why not just blow whatever it was up and be done with it?

As an aside I liked the Dinky toy vehicles my cousin had, both the tanky SPV thing and the white vehicle of no clear purpose

I think they corrected that in the 2005 CGI version (which is a good reboot BTW). I was lucky enough to meet Gerry in 2008 in Bristol and he kindly signed my DVD box set. I was impressed by him saying that he had nowt to do with the 2004 awful Thunderbirds movie which had its production offices across the courtyard at Pinewood. He was apparently offered a four-figure sum to pose with the pink car from the movie but refused.

I never understood Joe90 though. Like, nobody in the show ever said to him posing as top scientists etc...'you're a kid!. I suppose that was the fantasy part you had to buy into. Also, it seemed OK in the 60's to reprogram your child's mind with a huge machine whilst a funky theme tune blasted out :okay:. Social workers would stop that today.

In the live action film Anthony Edwards, of ER game, played Brains. He is one of the only good things about that film.
The 2004 live-action film, directed by Jonathon (“Number 1”) Frakes also starred Ron Cook, as Parker
He played Isambard Kingdom Brunel, in the excellent series Seven Wonder Of The Industrial World
