Tights or not?

Thanks all. From all that I'm taking away that we all like a bit of padding but it comes down to personal preference whether we go for 1 or 2 layers.

Dont buy the Muddy fox padded tights, 4-5 mile rides there ok but any more you will be in agony.

I have Altura padded shorts and i can ride forever in them(as long as my legs hold up), but the muddy fox ones have cheap padding, i have two mates who own the muddy fox leggings and both say the same thing as me.

Commute 5 days a week in padded undershorts with unpadded tights over the top, this way you only need a fresh pair of shorts each day and not tights

Just yesterday i ordered some roubaix bib tights from wiggle so they will be my winter tights.

I bought a pair of DHB Vaeon Roubaix padded bib tights from Wiggle. Never worn Lycra or tights before but wanted something comfy and warm to cycle in when the weather gets chilly and something that wouldn't catch my chain. Very pleased with them. Bit self conscious first time out but that was the same for wearing a helmet and I soon got over that. I feel good in mine and have no hang ups about them now. In fact I think they're pretty cool actually
