I "winterised" my Tricross (i.e. changed the wheels and put mudguards on) about 6 weeks ago. Since then, the weather has improved no end in comparison to the summer that never was. No need to thank me!

I'll be out on my summer bike this afternoon. Why not? It's a nice mild day,the roads are dry and we've had no salt on the roads yet. Besides, it's 16 years old and it's been out on many wet salty roads without any adverse affect. The clunky old Sora gears chain and derallieur keep going no matter what's thrown at them. and i washed my winter bike yesterday, it looks gleaming so i don't want to get it dirty.

The real question is: is it time to start using wet lube? It rains maybe once or twice a week at most where I live, not sure it's worth it

Went out in Shorts and thin long sleeved jersey today, therefore no Winter bike just yet!

Bike is absolutely stinking now though, after the lanes around Gower. Ran out of time, so no wash straight after this time.

My good bike is back out, went to put guards on the commuter and the brake nut was seized. Thankfully its coming out slowly, probably come out with a good whack of the mallet but I was back a bit late today for repeated hammering in the flat, I think my neighbours might object
