It is not his view, it is how they are intended to be worn. By wearing undies, you are compromising the performance of the cycling shorts. However if you feel you need to wear undies, do it, you won't get any grief from me.

It's not really a view, it's how they are designed to be worn. I only ever wore them with underwear once, on my first ever ride....NEVER AGAIN!!! Besides how do you use Chamois cream with underpants as well!

Chamois pads go against SKIN, not another material.

i love these debates - cycling garments that are built with a chamois pad for the comfort and protection of your bits do have a 'right' and a 'wrong' way to be worn...having said that, hendrix played a right-handed guitar left-handed - who thinks that was wrong eh?!

So if you wear your cycling shorts inside out you can then wear pants underneath and still benefit from the padding. Not sure about the style issues with that though

I will be going commando! I just hope i dont come off the bike and rip arse out my leggings. I wouldn't fancy being the driver that then has to follow me up the road.
