This. I've just bought one, it's brilliant.
It's a chain keeper, with a brake pad separator built in. You put it where the wheel was, when you take the wheel off. It keeps the chain off of the floor / frame, and stops the brakes from closing out. The little sprocket is removeable, so you can choose to put it on the front or back, dependant on circumstance.umm, what is it ?

ah I see. Not sure why you'd want to put it on the front though, but I understand for the back.
Not sure I could be arsed mind, but I do see the point
If you're transporting the bike, it stops the front forks from flexing, and getting accidentally bent / cracked. The amount of times I've accidentally squeezed the brake levers, with the wheels off, and had hot brake pads weld themselves together, makes it all worthwhile.
