...no, really. I felt bad about chuntering at him at the end.
Waiting in the centre of the right-hand "lane" (traffic always creates 2 queues here) as I need to be out into the offside lane. Usually the problem here is cars pulling inside me and then trying to push me out of the way as they enter the offside lane. Not this morning.
After about 30 seconds waiting at red, the car in front pulls forward and in to the left, but with R/H flashers on.
I look behind me thinking there's an ambulance with lights flashing, but no
Lights change to green and he proceeds - slowly. No-one ever puts R/H indicators on here so I hang back, thinking he's going to try a very illegal right turn but no, he goes left, still with R/H flashers on and really dawdles, mostly in the left lane but tyres slightly in the offside lane. So I'm "wobbling around" in the middle of the carriageway too not sure what's going on "WHERE ARE YOU GOING?" gets him to finally move over to the offside, and I follow.
He then pulls into the right hand filter lane - except the centre of his car is on the white line, half in the filter lane, half in the other lane...I give a sort of "WTF?" with my hands.
Then his arm comes out of the window and gestures in a "please pass (ot the offside)" movement. Except there are another 4 cars in front..all I can do is call out "I don't need to, I'm fine here"
He seemed to be trying to help me get past him...complete opposite to all normal driver behaviour. But so bloody confusing...don't do unusual things to try to be helpful...just drive - normally and predictably - that's the most helpful!
I wondered later on it it was anything to do with the BLT fantom that I have on flashing mode on the bars opposite the EL-530 on constant - both levelled for visibility rather than to see with - did that confuse him perhaps into thinking I was some kind of emergency cyclist?
