It's raining here. This was the view of the turning area outside my house about half an hour ago but I've fixed it now because that's the kind of good neighbour I am (and I have a set of drain rods )

It's been dark for ages here, also wet and very windy and I am supposed to be going out for dinner with a friend. Will be turning up to the restaurant looking very bedraggled.

Very very wet here but winds have to rise peaking later..

70mph winds on Cairngorm summit as we speak.....52 mph in the Solent

Hope they keep Michael Fish away from the forecast....

For the nerds amongst us..

Wind reports HERE
Rain reports HERE

Call me nerdy but I like those sites, thanks for those. But...the rain alarm one only seems to show an animation for the past couple of hours - I know what its done, its what its going to do I'm interested in. What am I doing wrong?

Set it up for your location and you stop the animation at the latest time, normally 15 to 20 mins before present time..its got a 15 min delay..

Wet and windy, that's all. I'm off to the pub with my father for a while.

I envy you! My Dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer's at the age of 50 so I never got round to having a father & son pint with him. At least I will be able to with my own son when he reaches 18 in 3 years, assuming I'm still coherent!

It was gusting 68mph round here at 12:00, apparently for West Cumbria that's not enough to get a yellow warning. Calming down a bit now, probably mid 30s at a guess. Rains stopped as well.

What storm?

Just saw a tweet saying Flights from Norwich to Manchester have been cancelled, and coaches ordered instead. Now, I don't know how long it takes to fly from Norwich to Manchester, but it's a 4 hour drive in a car. I think I'd jump in front of a coach rather than do that journey!

Nothing spectacular here, a bit gusty and wet, and the river is up, but that's normal.

We have a flood warning issued by the local paper so its going to be bad. 70-80mph winds , flooding etc. The advice was to place all valuable items upstairs. Id rather see them drown that offer them up to the wicked witch upstairs though.
So far so good, no lifejacket required. Hope nobody gets hurt this time.

I noticed the Severn was very high in Shrewsbury this weekend, hope there's no flooding.
