Mmm, midnight feast, as I was peckish... venison sandwich, but the bread drizzled with olive oil and seasoned with freshly ground salt and pepper. Better than expected. Delish, in fact.
Made a lovely pot of soup this afternoon, using a bunch of veggies (onion, carrot, parsnip, celery), pearl barley and some dry-aged beef trimmings that I picked up cheaply in Waitrose.
So had a bowl of that, followed by veggie chilli and triple-cooked chips* in beef dripping.
* still using up the free tatties I found spilled by the side of the road.
A new one for me - a cheaty chicken, pepper and mushroom stir-fry using a chili & garlic sauce from a packet, but 10 mins to do, with some basmati rice, and it's delish.

No, full of flavour 'enhancers' and crap.......................You can make a far better (and healthier) sauce from scratchI do something similar but use 'ready to wok' noodles as against rice.
Those stir fry sauces are very good aren't they.
