Tools for old bikes

Hi Folks,

Can someone set me straight on tools for old (vintage etc) bikes, please? Obviously none of my metric spanners fit anything, but neither do my imperial AF spanners. What do I need to cover most eventualities?

turn up all the time on ebay, at car boot sales, autojumbles, etc and very useful to have when working on old British built bikes.

We do have 5,000 square feet full of stuff

Yes, but despite our best efforts, Peanut & I were foiled in our aim to have a Classic & Vintage section.

We were told . . . . . . . "try Retro Bike or the CTC" etc., etc.
