BBC have down graded things a little bit but currently they give Pau as 34C Monday, 35C Tuesday and 36C Wednesday.

Looking at the UAE team, they seem to have gone in with a few more rouleurs than normal. Only really del Toro and Adam Yates as pure climbers. I suspect that's with the TTT in mind.

It was forecast at 38C this morning. Hence downgraded.

In the UK these days a forecast of 25 degrees triggers a red alert and advice to lay in a bath of cold water and don't take any unnecessary journeys..
... possibly a grumpy old git post!

FWIW, (3 parts of feck all), I've been flogging round the hills of Andalucia for 4 days in 38 degrees. Nobody has overtaken me either, cos nobody is stupid enough to cycle in this weather.
Muchos respect to the peloton to do it day after day.
