TdFF route looks good too. Thrilled by Ventoux inclusion.

Both routes seem to be very east/southern focused.

Including Gavarnie is a big deal. The prettiest climb in the Pyrenees imo, but never used to now because of environmental protection rules. I wonder if Tromousse will also be included soon?

Are any of the areas on the route ones that Macron wants his successor to win? Could it be Prudi or Lappartient? (and before anyone reports this, please remember that the politics of cycling is still allowed here)

Might try to get a few days at my mate's pad in the Pyrenees as it's only a short distance from Les Angles and I've never seen a Tour mountain stage.

Prudhomme reveals brutal 2026 Tour finale designed to stop another Pogacar stranglehold

“We made the finish as difficult as possible so that the yellow jersey won’t be secure 48 hours before the end,”

Lol.....

taking your bike or hiring one?

I had plans of cycling up Alpe d’Huez again something early Sept next year as a 60th birthday celebration but this has over-taken that.

I doubt I’ll be riding anywhere, arrive late on the 17th and leave on the 21st. Given two of those days are race days, I doubt I’d be allowed on the road at all.

That leaves only the 18th and to be honest, I don’t fancy cycling through all the drunk nutters at Dutch corner lol

I have hired a bike before from Cycle Huez at the top of the mountain so may drop him a line.
