If you look, he sits up, looks behind to check Seixas/Remco etc, and accelerates again to keep a gap to them
I don't think he was ever going to hold Pog on that, but I'm not certain the joke that he's gifting Pog yellow is all that far out

So Pog and Jonas are on the same time but Pog is in the lead (and yellow) due to better combined stage placings in the previous stages,

Wonder if they were saving it ready for a stage attempt? I’d be surprised if Ganna in particular would have struggled on that stage. I don’t understand why De Lie rode so much of the stage. He’s been struggling since the TTT and never seemed likely he would get through it.

I like to think that most of mine is a little more tongue-in-cheek than FF's. Like I don't actually believe Jonas gifted the yellow today, but sitting up, looking back and then going again was a little weird and I don't have a good explanation of why - if you've got it then why not use it?

Nah, Jonas was just calculating how far back he needed to be to give away the yellow & interviews & podium visit & so on. If no-one was overtaking him, he needed to slow more.

It's up to the other teams to stop that happening but they seem content to let UAE dictate the race so far.

Healy got dropped / sat up early yesterday so I did wonder if he was looking at today but haven't been paying attention to him lately. Has he been struggling? Seem to recall he was ill / injured early in the season.
