Jorgensen was the main hatchet man in VLAB's attempt to rough up Pogacar last year. Carapaz cost Del Toro a Giro, at least in their minds. UAE do not forgive or forget.
Yes - both have their names on the famous blacklist, though I think whatever it is with Jorgenson goes further back than last summer.
But yeah, the happy go lucky boy racer also rules his dominion with an iron fist
Anyway, a few bits and pieces from Danish TV - Mads P wouldn't let Skjelmose take a pull (Skjelmose wanted to but Mads wouldn't let him) as he didn't want to risk his GC. Vingegaard was interviewed on the evening show and seemed pretty relaxed and confident, will keep fighting all the way to Paris. He also says that he's a lot happier in the team now, gets more say over his race calendar and how often he has to be away on training camps and that it's something cycling in general needs to address - because cycling now is far harder than it used to be because of all the sports science and weighing your meals etc
EDIT:
And from Innrng - he suggests the route change was largely symbolic. They've got a heatwave emergency and the government want the public to take it seriously, so chopping a few kms off the front of te race allows them to say: "look, even the Tour is having to adapt"
