Ah, I've never played with one of those.

I suppose with some cars you can barely see the ruddy thing, which would make going backwards difficult.

Presumably it's often easier to manhandle it, particularly if it's not heavily laden.

Been there, done that.
I sometimes towed a short trailer behind my van. Difficult to reverse something you cannot see but I developed a way of doing it to some extent by putting it to one side where it was partly visible in my mirrors if that makes sense. Not always possible.
I once reversed a farm trailer with a Fergie and got it into a shed but could not drive out :ohmy: . No idea how I managed that.

They are a nightmare to control, mostly because if by some chance you get a glimpse of it in your mirror, its already gone. I have a double axle trailer and you can see the wings 9n each side from a normal driving position and I could reverse it with millimetre precision. :okay:

Got two small dents in the rear by bumper due to the stupidly small trailer I have ! I could reverse my twin axle east peasy but not that lol
