I'm thinking of buying this road bike:

My local Trek store has one in a frame my size so thinking of buying it today.

Unless anyone has any other recommendations I should consider.

Have you ridden it?
What are you planning to use it for?
If it fits you well, does what you want, you like the look and can afford it (and to insure it), why not
For me...umm the red is nice...

Its carbon fibre, it looks fast, it's your size and it's available. What more could you want?

Oh yes and make sure you get the matching lycra ^_^.

I visited Evans at the Trafford Centre and the Trek Store, Wilmslow today. Still in love with the Madone SLR7 but 3 other models have caught my eye:

Trek really do make some nice bikes! I've only ever looked at Giant, Specialized and Cannondale before. Unfortunately I wasn't able to test ride any of them.

I'm thinking I might wait until the end of next year and buy when the 2021 models are discounted.
With stocks as they are and Covid ongoing, there may not be much in the way of discount, but you can only wait and see :okay:

I don't think Trek retailers ever discount the Project One options, but you can always try to negotiate a discount with an LBS (not a chain)

I would have thought that the Coronavirus has had a negative impact on bike sales hence more discounting?

Not at all, quite the opposite! More people buying bikes for exercise or commuting and disrupted supply chains.
There’s been barely a bike to buy for 6 months or more especially in the common sizes!
