I put a pair of shoes on yesterday after checking them first for bits of stuff that can get in the shoes when left on the floor. A bird seed fell out of one, which would've been quite uncomfortable when wearing if left in the shoe. Later when walking round outside I felt another thing in the same left shoe. On taking the shoe off to check, I found a small stone. Later on I ended up with another small stone in the same left shoe and to cap it all, soon after I felt something in my right shoe! On taking it off to look, I found a small stone had got in there. This made me wonder how such as marathon runners go on if/when they get such as small stones in their running shoes when competing. Surely they'd have to stop to take the shoe off to get the stone out as running for miles and miles with a stone in their shoe would be very uncomfortable, affecting their ability to carry on running at a competitive pace. 🤔
