I'm afraid I only know the location of the gravy boat, as my waistline attests.

AHA!! So it is you who cannot see 'it' because of your belly? :giggle:

And if you only vaguely remember Herbie Hancock

I’ve related the story before but it bears repeating so I’ll repost it below. I still can’t believe I paid good money to see him!

We once bought tickets to a Herbie Hancock gig at the Greco-Roman amphitheatre in Taormina, Sicily (we were already there on holiday). It’s a spectacular venue that becomes quite magical as the evening darkness falls and stars twinkle overhead.

Gradually, musicians appeared on stage and took their places, tuning up before the concert started. The tuning up went on for about 40 minutes until we realised that this was the concert! In the middle of it all, there was Herbie, centre stage, blowing into a vacuum cleaner hose while he swung the rest of it around his head.

We couldn’t believe our ears and looked around to see if this was a joke. Everyone else was obviously going with it and loving it.

To us it sounded like a fire in a pet shop so we discreetly left.

P.S. I do like normal jazz.

One of my local music venues used to charge £10 on the door. This went up to £12 at the beginning of this year and it will go up to £14 from the start of next year. That's a 40% increase in just over 12 months.

my Kodak Hero 3.1 printer...

it will not connect to my PC via USB or wirelessly, but the workaround is to just use an SD card and print/scan to/from that.

BUT the trivial thing that's annoying me today about my printer is it will not print a word doc from an SD card. It can't even see the word doc on an SD card. It truly is the sh!ttest bit of tech I've ever owned. :cursing:

My partner has that problem and I don't know how it's all so complicated. The last printer would only connect half the time, and sometimes would connect but not print. She bought a new printer abd that did the same thing over wifi. So I bought her a cable and it still only connects 80% of the time!

Sounds like a driver problem - have you installed the driver recommended by the manufacturer?

I have seen that sort of things several times in my time as an IT technician at school and "fiddling with the driver" was normally the fix
although it was sometimes one of those things where I had "fiddled" with so many things that I have no clue what had fixed it!

...

I reckon the manufacturers driver is the problem with my printer. I keep meaning to find a 3rd party driver for it... but since i only want to use it once every two years, I never get round to it.

If you deinstall it and let windows find a generic one it might just work
well - maybe

I bought some caustic soda to unblock a drain. It produced hardly any heat when I added it to the water so I took another look at the label. It actually said 'drain cleaner with caustic soda'. The 'caustic soda' was in a much bigger font. I then took a look at the ingredients, the main one was sodium carbonate. I'd actually bought some overpriced washing soda.

ha ha!!!
But careful what you wish for; caustic soda is serious stuff. I used some to dissolve a stuck quill stem!
