While out and about in Clitheroe Lancashire yesterday I wanted to put a used paper towel in a bin. On arriving at the bin I was met with this!

Now this bin was full when I passed it three days ago. Yes, I know the council workers will have many such bins to empty but seeing as the borough of Ribble Valley is considered to be one of the most affluent areas in England and the town of Clitheroe attracts many tourists, day trippers etc wouldn't you think the council would empty it before it gets in such a state!!!🧐

When taking those photos a bloke walked by sarcastically asking if I was ok seeing as I was taking photos of a full bin with litter that couldn't fit in all around it! I told him that I intended to post the photos on social media. As he left he whispered 'nothing better to do' under his breath! I then loudly whispered under my breath 'I bet your house is like this'! We left it at that! 🧐

So to be clear, you noticed a full bin twice in three days, and did nothing to have the situation corrected (call Clitheroe Council on 01200 425111 for refuse issues,) but complained on a forum that has no connection to that Council about litter around said bin?

This is why we can’t have nice things.

Calm down. This thread is about mentioning trivial things that annoy you beyond belief, not about asking how to remedy the situation.

Probably the sort of person who moans and whinges about things
and how "they" should do something about it

but the concept of reporting it is not "something they do"

Some people seem to treat reporting fly tipping as almost "being a grass" or something

How exactly the counsel are supposed to know that someone has dumped a load of bag of carp by the side of a road is unclear
but apparently "they should"

Careful now, pointing out Accy's hypocrisy to him can lead to him blocking you.

If you're lucky.

OK - maybe it should have been reported

but before that - why do people add massive amounts of extra stuff to a bin that is clearly already full

Can;t they just take it to another bin
or - God forbid - take it home??

I saw this at the airport yesterday

it is private land - the observation area
the airport (I presume) have started to tie some rubbish bags to the fence so people have somewhere to put their rubbish

yesterday there were 5 or 6 bag - all overflowing
and lots and lots of rubbish on the floor around each one as people had added extra which would clearly fall out

so it was a mess because "someone should have emptied the bins"

No - "someone" should have not put extra stuff in a bin bag that was clearly full!!!!!

That’s a bit pot calling kettle as you once posted pictures of your lack of bothering with your domestic duties.😉

Traffic lights are so annoying, they just slow the traffic and cause congestion. Only needed when you have two major roads intersecting. Jabbing then for hotels and gyms etc even a lane primarily used by horses is just ridiculous.

As in I don't/can't vacuum and dust like I used to be able to do! My inability to complete such tasks is due to my multiple sclerosis, not slovenliness! Plus, the state of my flat affects only me, not hundreds, even thousands who have to look at that bin and similar bins etc all over the country!

Oh and people aren't paying me to keep things tidy, with me then not completing the service I've been paid to do, unlike the council tax payers of the Ribble Valley who pay one of the highest council tax rates in Lancashire, even the whole country! In short no one is losing out if I don't/can't keep my flat as tidy as I used to, unlike the council tax payers of the Ribble Valley who are paying for a service that isn't being completed! I hope this clears things (excuse the pun) up for you!😏
