I bought a BINLIHUAN manual wind mechanical watch off ebay. I wound it up and it kept good time for a day so I put it in a drawer. It was still running a week later. I prised the back off with a Stanley knife and there was a battery inside.

I specifically wanted a mechanical watch for the novelty and nostalgia value. In order to return the watch I need to attach a photo to show that it doesn't match the description. However it would show that I'd removed the back which would invalidate the terms of the money-back guarantee. The whole episode has cost me about £12 so I'll just put it down to experience.

PS I did a Google search and there are lots of fake mechanical and automatic watches on the market.

I still haven't found a way to tell eBay/Amazon/Google that when I search for info on a product and then buy one of those, I don't want to be blitzed with offers for more of them!

I bought a rowing machine weeks ago but am still seeing ads for them now. I bought an iMac last weekend and am getting 3+ iMac emails a day.

Yup - about a year ago I bought a year's supply of hay fever tablets

since then they have been asking if I want more!!!
as I only use then in summer - still have a few months supply left for next year!!

From my experience, Duracell batteries these days are absolute cack. I gave up on them ages ago. Ever Ready Energizer plus, super duper whatever they're called are way better. I use them in my wildlife camera and they're the only ones that when they run out, I can't remember when I put them in it was so long ago .

I knew a witch quite well for a while
