Trivial things that make you annoyed beyond expectations?

Almost every BBC news has some football-related 'headline' whilst other sports get very little or no coverage.

Also, to be fair, it's the most viewed sport by a long way. A 2023 poll found that 38% of respondents followed football , 17% for rugby and tennis, 15% for cricket.

A 2003 poll put football at 46%, rugby at 21%, tennis, athletics and cricket at 18%, snooker at 17% and motorsport at 16%.

Thus if you only have 2 minutes for sport, you are going to report the football.

It used to be that you only got football in the late autumn / winter / early spring and cricket / tennis for the other half of the year, but football is now pretty much year round.

But it hardly headline news worthy. A bunch of people running about for a bit and getting the ball in the goal a few times more than the other. Celebrity likewise.

If it is something of interest to 38% of their viewers, then it IS headline worthy. The fact you are one of the larger proportion with little interest doesn't change that.

Rock bands swearing.

Bit random maybe seeing as I swear, a lot.
However, I'm currently watching Glastonbury on TV and some of the bands swearing and it almost seems forced, unnatural. Almost as if it's a statement of "We're a rock band so we swear"

I'm not offended or embarrassed (by having young kids here or elderly people etc) but just seems unnecessary.

I am annoyed that someone at Lidl thinks it makes sense for the Lidl Plus app to proudly announce that a special offer is available at 1,004 of its UK stores and that one can click a button to see if one's local store is on the list, which... is not sorted into alphabetical order... and is not searchable... and doesn't all load at once... so, read a bit... scroll a bit... wait a bit... load a bit more... repeat a lot... and eventually... give up!!

I'm more slightly worried than annoyed that I spotted 2 small moths hanging around my tweed, wool, linen and silk clothing yesterday. We have a moths eating clothes problem in the retro clothing shop I work in, with the owner constantly battling to keep them at bay. Those 2 I saw might not be natural fibers eating moths and just part of the insect influx we get in our homes in the summer and I've never had a problem with them before, but I'll be keeping an eye open for possibly seeing more than 1 or 2 in my flat.

I got a moth infestation when I lived in Hebden Bridge about 25 years ago and have been unable to stop the little swines. They came over to Todmorden with me when I moved here about 10 years ago!

I have been killing 4 or 5 a day this week but they just keep coming...

Now that we have a couple of days of warm weather what really annoys me are flies - they come in then spend hours flying around pretending that they don't know how to get out - FFS flies grow up!
