I find that quite scary!I've had a moth phobia since 1992 when me and the former Mrs Accy went to Corfu to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. On arrival in our apartment I picked up what I thought was a half smoked King Edward size cigar left by a cleaner, only to feel the 'cigar' open up in my fingers then realise it was a sleeping giant moth. When seeing it frantically fluttering around, it must've had a wingspan of over 3 inches!!

When I discovered them in my carpet, it was heaving with the little larvae buggers! It's an issue I have never had to really think about to be fair, although I have long been sceptical about moths actually eating things as they use a proboscis.
I must admit my ignorance, so thanks.

The moth that I took a photo of last night was like the first one posted by @icowden above.
I think I am just about done on the subject now...'Like'?
There are hundreds of species and positive identification can be difficult, especially with the 'Micro Moths'. The differences can be very subtle indeed.
I think I am just about done on the subject now...
- Hundreds of small moths in Hebden Bridge 'like' that one ate pretty much all the woollen items they could find, including carpets.
- I moved house and accidentally transported a half-eaten jumper containing larvae in a bag of clothing.
- By the time I noticed, I had hundreds of small moths 'like' that one.
- I still have problems with moths 'like' that one.
- I am not a moth expert and have no interest in becoming one so that's your lot!
4D number plates
What’s the difference between 4D number plates and standard number plates?
Design
The most obvious difference between 4D number plates and standard number plates is the way the characters are designed. The characters on standard number plates are slightly raised from the surface of the plate, while the characters on 4D number plates are raised even further, creating a captivating three-dimensional appearance.
So they are 3-D number plates then? Unless it has an appearance of 3D rather than actually being 3D, and therefore being 2D. Make your mind up!
Are 4D number plates the same as 3D number plates?
Not quite. 3D number plates were popular before the introduction of 4D number plates but looked quite different. It included a shading effect that was created during the print process to make the digits seem 3D. However, the law changed in 2021 to state that all number plate characters must be solid black. 4D plates have since taken over, however, people now use 3D and 4D interchangeably.
So '3D number' plate only had a perceived third dimension, but to differentiate our genuine 3D number plates, we are going to pretend that they have a fourth dimension? Not simulate one, like the pretend 3D ones, but just invent a 4th dimension that is identical to the 3rd one?
These are the two you want to watch out for. Their larvae eat clothing
