Two step verification.

For example if I want to sign into Strava on the main PC it sends an email to my Sky email account with a verification code. To read that email I have to sign in to Sky - which sends a verification code by text message to my phone.

You don't have to turn on two-step verification for most of the sites you can do.

I keep it on for financial sites and other important sites such as Lastpass, but not for gmail or Strava.

I try not to use it, but I think Sky imposed it a week or so ago and I accidentality activated it on Strava a while ago and can't cancel it.

Neighbour just knocked on door, saying a parcel for us was delivered to him. We are a little block labelled a-d. Except it wasn't for us at all, it was clearly labelled for the house over the fence, with the same number and no letter... Better half didn't realise at door and has now just had to walk to the correct address with parcel!

Neighbour has no excuse, he's lived here ~15 years.

I've just had to turn Petrie Hoskin off on Talk TV. Tonight's subject was 'inconsiderate cyclists'. Her ranting about cyclists 'breaking speed limits, thinking they own the road, not using cycle lanes, wearing ridiculous lycra, shaving their legs to save seconds when competing, not giving way to motorists' etc etc was not only embarrassing to listen to, but in my mind inflaming anti cyclist hatred that could lead to violence against cyclists!

Sadly, we're an east target for mouthy no-brainers like this. And as someone who's cycled and driven a hell of a lot of miles over the years, I just know that she'll be one of those people who can't drive for sh#t 🤡.

Yeah but come on everyone knows or should do that those types of shows are intentionally controversial and inflammatory so best thing is to avoid at all costs. They get on guests who they are pretty much guaranteed and encourage to say something outrageous to spark a reaction.

Strikes me as of limited use when eg trying to login using your smartphone (app or website) so they send you a text message to confirm you have your smartphone.

Phone stolen and accessed by a "bad actor" and on that one device they have everything including the full 2FA access on the one stolen device.

Only if they manage to unlock it before you report it stolen and get it bricked.
