It can be a pain but if it helps prevent fraud then I'm all for it. Obviously if someone got into my Strava account so what. If they got into my banking then it's a bit different.

1. Self service tills which ask if you need a bag after you tell them you brought your own.
2. Bank machines which ask if you want to check your balance after specifically pressing 'No'. They must be related to no1. above
3. People who have a car alarm so sensitive they go off at 3am when a pigeon farts...and they seem to sleep through it despite it being parked on their drive....

I could see the appeal of seeing who has the fastest times this year, maybe even last few years on top of the KOM. But leg ends, well who cares how often someone has ridden through a segment?!
Speaking of Strava, the suggest "fan favourites" to follow and/or random people I've "ridden with" (on Zwift, not outdoors) drives me bonkers, I hate how you cannot turn the feature off.
If you want to follow someone on Strava, it isn't rocket science and I don't want random Zwift people following me either.
My blocked list, especially for "fan favourites," is getting rather large these days!
I use Strava to log my rides and to track the inevitable decline as I age
. Fastest time of the year on a particular segment I look at, it's pretty meaningless but I use it to see how I'm doing etc. It's all nonsense ultimately as no matter how fast you are someone will always be quicker but until I get fed up with it I'll continue to use Strava. I've had random people follow me which is bizarre. I'm not on Zwift(tried it but it just didn't appeal) so I only follow actual people I know and ride with. Some cyclists I know follow/are followed by 100s which just seems strange to me if you haven't actually met someone but anyway each to their own.ebikeerwidnes

Annoys me when I do that
and buying it that way is the only option
so all the booking fee and delivery charge and all that - is not "an extra"
it is the only way to buy it
and hence should be part of the price
It's not like you buy a new car and then get charged extra if you want wheels and seats!!!
(lets not mention bikes here - that just complicating the concept!!!)

Something I don't understand eg I don't do and Social Media but I did decide to register on Bluesky only to reserve the name. Created an empty profile, nothing other than the "nogoodnamesleft.net" name, no posts, nothing. Yet within an hour of creating/registering I had a follower - a middle aged woman "wanting to chat".
I wondered if people regard their own number of followers as a sign of their "significance" and hope that if they follow you you'll reciprocate and follow them? (complete guess 'cos I don't do Social Media).

I had a laugh today when a friend told me what she had done. I am sure that the other person involved was "annoyed beyond expectations", until my friend rectified the situation...
My pal bought a coffee to drink on her way to work. She'd had a few minutes to wait for her train and had got chatting to the guy who served her. The train was pulling in, so she picked up her phone from the cafe counter, and went and got on board.
Just before she reached her destination she flipped open the cover to her phone to make a call, and discovered to her horror...
... a photo of the coffee guy's partner staring back at her from the lockscreen of the phone, which she had accidentally 'stolen'!!! Apparently, her identical-looking phone was in her other pocket!
My friend had to phone her supervisor to tell her what had happened, then catch another train back to return coffee guy's phone, and then catch a 3rd train back to work.
Coffee guy had been keeping his fingers crossed that his phone would reappear at some point and was very happy when it did!
