Trying to cross a busy road with a 30 mph speed limit, constantly broken, yesterday evening, a car appeared on my left waiting to turn right. My thoughts were 'I now have to watch this car as well as those approaching from my left and right on this busy road'. I then looked to my left to see the driver of the waiting car on my left had stopped in the middle of the road to block the traffic approaching from her left, to let me cross safely, telling me to wait when she saw a fast approaching car on my right. When the driver of that car knew he couldn't get passed the considerate driver's car he had to stop, allowing me to cross safely. I thanked the considerate driver with her replying 'My pleasure sir'. How kind and thoughtful of her!

Edit...plus she was in what looked like a quite powerful Audi, which just goes to show not all Audi drivers are two hats, as some seem to think! :okay:

Watching, from the kitchen window, the sparrows bathing in the "water feature" on the terrace.
When their bathing, lighting and my camera are coordinated we might get a photo.

Looking east, just simply watching the sunrise with the nearby flats backlit by it and with the sky ablaze.

Also at dusk when the sun and sky reflect off all those windows to create an ever changing blue and yellow spectacle, as I look east towards them.

At night too, when the sky is a rich dark blue and the red beacons on the top off set it all. 😍

The flats are actually about a mile away but on a hill, so they are very prominent, especially as there are 7 of them. They never cease to create a focal point of some kind... Even when they vanish in the mist!

I watch from my tiny (council) bungalow and wonder what sights they must see from the top, including the flights into Glasgow Airport, easterly still, for them!

Where am I? Pinno? 🤣

A friend of ours is lending us her Porsche so my daughter has the suitable grand entrance to the school "prom". I offered to sort out short term insurance but she insisted on adding me to her policy as a named driver for the year. Her premium went down £23 and I have access to a Porker for the next year (in theory).

I had one of those every blue moon moments when a bubble appears on top of a bottle of beer, a few minutes ago. Luckily I 'got the shot', before it popped!! 😉

I saw the below plant led on the floor in the local cemetery the other week, during a 'heat wave'. It's soil was bone dry and the plant itself was wilting in the hot sun. After standing it up I poured lots of rain water I found in gravestone pots etc on its soil and in the tray it was in, repeating the process the following evening. After my watering and a few weeks of rain the plant has made a miraculous recovery!:okay:

I broke the arm on my glasses. I got an old pair and noticed that the lenses just prise out of the front. I did the same with my current glasses and put them in the old frame. I've just saved myself the trouble and expense of having to get another pair of glasses.

When you do need a new pair, online shops are supposedly a fraction of the cost of the high street.

We received a letter from Yorkshire water yesterday addressed to the occupiers of our house. It stated as you are a priority user, the current hosepipe ban does not apply to yourselves.
Which is nice and I wasn’t aware either of us is priority user( I’m sure we are not) but it will come in handy if any of the neighbours grass me up for using the hose to clean my bike.
