I was a bit wary about ordering from AliExpress, especially an incredibly inexpensive rack to fit on the front block of a Brompton...

Not only did it cost a mere £12.45p including postage, it arrived in five days, it will hold my Ortlieb front roller pannier and it's really damn sturdy!

Well chuffed that my risky cheap buy has turned out to be a good 'un.

I use Arko stick shaving soap, which as the name suggests manifests as a conveniently shaped stick you can rub on your face:

Sadly its ergonomic benefits diminish with its shrinking length during use.

Recently however I managed to redeem the half-inch-thick disk remaining of the last stick by fusing it to the end o the new one; the resultant creation having just survived its first use :becool:

I use that too. I have to admit I like it for the pleasingly retro packaging.

What is this "shaving" thing of which you speak?

It has to be close to 20 years since I last shaved, and even then I had a Goatee, so didn't shave all my face.

Indeed - plus it's very budget-friendly and smells nice too

Really I only use it to tidy the edges (neckline and cheeks) and even then only once a week or so.

Can't imagine doing a full shave daily with a straight razor like folks did in olden days!

I was going to book a flight to Rome this week. I might have got caught in the travel chaos caused by the new biometric testing,

Having two Yorkie bars drop out the vending machine at work after it failed once, left one bar dangling then voided the payment and asked me to try again. This is a much under-rated experience ^_^

My 14 year old dog Albert, having cheese & onion pie and mushy peas in a local chip shop two days ago after having his hair cut.😉

Those bits on the floor are blossom petals and bits of paper etc, blown in from the street. So don't be thinking the shop's owner is a scruffy git as he's constantly sweeping blown in stuff back out!😉

I've changed my profile avatar photo to this one, taken just after I was held by the plod for supposed erratic driving, with me being being alcohol and illegal drug tested, in September 2025.

I think I had the last one from when I first joined CC in May 2012, so it's time for a change, but I might go back to my original avatar yet.🤔😉
