I think the whole blame on motorists could cause even more anti-cycling thoughts as if we need anymore !
Need to move to Holland,just loved that cycle path,wonder if there is a cycle version of a motorway for the faster cyclist ???

how often is a left hook caused by a cyclists tailgating. not as often as a car overtaking a cyclists and then turning left!

Left hooks are usually overtake, or not even that...just force the bugger out of the way.....had one of those last year....then one many years ago with a transit...... that one had me airborne.......

I agree,who in their right mind would under take an indicating car and swerve such a way around a car that you just pop up in front of moving traffic.
They would never create the true left turn accident where WE get overtaken and squished by the tit turning left !
I do think planning to make motorists responsible for every accident even if it is the fault of the cyclists is a bad move though,we all know there are some absolute cocks on two wheels out there and we know they are the ones Mr Motorist remembers.
I wish cycle paths in the UK were as wide as the Dutch ones,the crap i have to try and ride in Bolton is worse than riding off road up Rivington Pike !!!
Good to see something about the problem on TV at last,shame about the guy who got killed by a truck.I pass a spot on my route where a guy got killed but no one was caught as it was early morning,always give a nod at the flowers.
