I think someone above mentioned that there is some joint ownership thing going on, so I'd be very surprised if they spent extra money (Aside from the presenter) to change/alter the already created highlights package that they will make available for streaming.
I suspect the attitude will be that we are lucky to have it, and take what you're given.
Very happy to be wrong though.
it would make no sense though to do that as youre then having to pay for a production team to watch 6hrs of racing per day to produce the highlights for 3 weeks, and potentially also have to have a commentary team dub in, when you can just take the ready made thing from TNT. I know the TNT crew spend alot of time promoting HBO stuff, and talking about things like the breakaway which would make no sense to a C5 audience.
but surely they should be looking to do it as cheaply as possible as the lesson learned from ITV were the production costs for the size of audience they were getting, which impacted their ability to attract sponsors/advertising, didnt add up.
I mean Im surprised theyre bringing in Becky Charlton to host their show, because now you have a presenter talking to camera, which means a production crew as well, editors to splice it together, studio time perhaps or maybe theyll have her following the tour around which is all accomodation and expenses, and its just adding to the costs for no real gain to the viewer.
(which is very hardcore 80s synth style imo)
