Doesn't make me sad though, quite uplifting in fact.

Brut, used to get some every christmas in the early to mid seventies. The smell takes me straight back to then.
Me too. Someone bought me a bottle of Brut two years ago because I used to go on about it, but I didn't have the nerve to splash it on. But I did have a sniff and immediately I was sixteen again.

Walking past a local car mechanic's workshop on the way to school.

The smell of grease and oil. The dark oily patches on the adjacent pavement. It was both foul and arousing at the same time.

His name was Otto Rossi - silver-haired Italian

Andrew Craft. He was my best mate at Flora Gardens Junior School. We were inseparable for about two years (which is for ever when you're nine). Then his family moved away, and that was that.
