I got on my train home tonight, which has an area for bicycles which comprises a row of four fold-away seats, so passengers can sit there if there are no bicycles. There was a man sitting on the left-most seat.

Me: Excuse me, this is an area for bicycles - please would you mind making a little room.
Man: No.
Me: This is an area for bikes - I don't want to get mud on your trousers, so would you please move a litte?
Man: I'm trying to have a phone conversation.
Me: Couldn't you have it whilst standing up?
Man: **** off.
Man (into phone): There's a complete c*** here....

At which point I wiggle the bike which did get water on his trousers, tied it up, and found somewhere to sit.

Very rude - and I was feeling pretty angry after being told to **** off, and having been called a c***.

Sorry to hear that but that's the problem with public transport - the public
You think road users are selfish and nasty - used to get the train from Manchester to Leeds and Manchester to Sheffield regularly and the trains are full of very angry and very selfish people

Why do you choose to block the word f*ck but not the word c*nt (the latter being considerably worse!)?

Should have attempted to get some of the chain oil on his trousers, that woulda taught him!

Hehe - the censorship is built into the forum - I didn't censor anything. I thought it was funny too!

Sounds like you Coped though.

Sorry couldn't resist.

You do wonder about people like that.

I've had a few of them in my time.. although mothers who park there prams in the spaces provided for bikes can get real mouthy when you ask them to move there prams.

That sounds like a horrendous experience. Lucky for me, the Airedale Line (Leeds to Skipton in Yorkshire) have trains with some pretty good bike carriers.
