Also a suzuki s-cross owner and had an advisory at the last mot that the rear tyres were getting low. Front ones still ok.

Car 4 yrs old. I was puzzled as well.

Is yours the front wheel drive or 4x4 version? What mileage are you getting from rear tyres?

Doesn't really help you as there is no follow up, but it does suggest you are not alone,

Back to the original problem, are both tyres the same, is the wear on the outer edges of both tyres, do you use it fully loaded a lot of the time?

Yes, both tyres are wearing roughly the same, with slightly more wear on the outer edges. Spends very little time with anything more in it than me and a bike!

Appears to be a 'character' of them, my old Xantia did 65K on it's original rear tyres & had't put put the 3rd set on at 150K long before I sold it.

Only 2 things to suggest is take it to a place that does 4 wheel alignment & see what it is set at, You maybe able to introduce some change with washers/shims but you need a starting place not sure where though as I don't know the setup. Or possibly as somebody suggested run your tyres at 40psi to see if you can run a bit more on the middle but care it doesn't compromise the handling

Great .... and no adjustment of alignment is possible. I know the link is to a Vitara thread, but they are mechanically very similar cars.

I've run cars which were 'non-adjustable', except they could be shimmed if necessary. Have a word with a Suzuki specialist - there will be a solution developed by someone if it's a systemic issue, as suggested.

Not sure if your fix, but someone's been shimming Vitara axles:

Definitely get it checked that all 4 wheels are pointing in correct place .
Never known a front wheel drive car to eat rear tyres they usually in my experience last twice as long as the front ones do and normally wear true and flat .

Find a motor engineer to do a report to present to Suzuki if they don't listen get trading standards involved.
If no luck get him to devise a solution which you can sell to other owners!đŸ¤£đŸ¤£
