Hopefully see you at the Rally to offer personal congratulations - drop by the Velo Vision stand to see if I'm there...

Do NOT go near the Velovision stand!

There are far too many shiny things on wheels suitable for children in that Magazine

I rest my case!

On a serious note... Velovision really is superb and there is a lot of goofd advice in its pages on cycling with children form pregnancy throughout childhood in its guides and pages.

congrats

If our little bundle of joy is anything to go by : It's *so* worth it. Reduction of funds, sleepless nights, whatever she can throw at us. Its all worth it (in fact you gain!).

She cant even walk yet but I'm still thinking about when I can teach her to ride!

Congrats!

Many people will tell you your life will change. You will think that you understand this. You don't. It will change so much more than you can imagine. To say there are no negatives is would be lying, but there are many, many, many positives.

Congrats to both sets of parents to be!

BTW Cathryn, I love the photos of your French trip. My DH and I honeymooned in Aix en Provence in 1991. We stayed at the Hotel St Christophe. Fab.

Congratulations.

There's lots of things to look forwards to.

  • First words.
  • First steps.
  • First trike.
  • First bike.
  • First day at school - all of my kids loved it - probably relieved to get away from me ;-)
the list goes on....

There are also lots of hilarious moments.

The downsides?

Outnumbered by the laughs and thrills .....

Definitely.

And with a bit of luck, when the sprog is a bit older he'll go off touring with you.

Anyway well done from me.

PS Given that you are practically a midget and your husband's a giant I''ll be interested to see what size your son grows to.

Thank you everyone. Don't forget Flying Monkey and his future baby monkey too everyone - I inadvertently stole his baby thunder!!

Violet, glad you liked the photos - Aix is gorgeous, I love it!!

Danny thank you for the evocative (if true) description of me and Richard!!! Looking at him, his brother and his Dad I know exactly what he'll look like - and he'll be at least 6 foot. My genes will be well hidden.

It's going to be fab. I know it'll be hard (although clearly just head knowledge) but it's going to be fab!!!!

Sorry Arch, but the Rothan that I said we might be selling soon has been bagsied by my sister for her boy.

No worries. I'll put out other feelers...

My sister rang yesterday to say that Oli can now differentiate verbally between a 'brrrum-bike', and a 'pussssh-bike'. And last week, I taugh him to say 'saddle'....

I can only imagine how being a parent changes your outlook. Being an Auntie has been enough of a shock for me!
