Hi all thank you for the great information some amazing knowledgable people on this site
I am currently running a 8 speed shimano Deore XT rear mech front mech bar end shifters
Cassette 11-34
Stronglight chainset 170 MM cranks
Unknown bottom bracket
Kmc chain
Apart from the cassette ,chain and middle ring everything ellesse is originall to the bike when I got around 15 years ago
So I would like to change it all to a newer set up
So I am thinking 10 speed XT all round apart from the chainset which I would like to go with a middleburn chainset
Does anyone see any red flags or problems that I might encounter
I know it can get quite confusing with chainset and chain lines and q factor all help is much appreciated thanks

Will your freehub/wheel accept a 10 speed cassette ?

What new shifters are you planning to use?
Size of large chainring? FD cage (curvature) to match that.
9 speed might allow an easier match between shifters and derailleurs.

Dura Ace 10 speed bar end seem to be compatible according to Sjs cycles
Dont think I need to go over 48 outer ring and would quite happily go lower

Going 9 speed might be easier as AB says. Never seen those Middleburn chainsets before, certainly a premium product by the looks of it. What BB do they use or is one included? Are the bearings inboard or outboard?
