The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
ta for that.

I keep looking at some Mavic askiums in decathlon for £99 but could never justify. Oooh just looked and they are now £80. hmmmmmmm
Go for the Aksiums, they are well worth £80 - they roll more freely than the 501s, and definitely feel more lively. I think they are lighter, and the bearings run more smoothly than the 501s ( recently replaced 501s with Aksiums on my winter Ribble, and the difference is noticeable).

Can anyone recommend some tires with my Fulcrum 5's? I'm looking at

http://www.halfords.com/cycling/cycling-parts/tyres/continental-gatorskin-bike-tyre-700c-x-23c

You can get the Gaterskin cheaper but you can't buy at Halfords at the moment for some reason. They had a good deal on last week 25% off second tyre but missed out.

Which is better or you recommend a different tire?

What do you want they for?

Speed, grip, puncture resistance or winter use?

I would them like for speed, but as it's for commuting sensibly I probably need puncture resistance, I'm using the bike to get to work. A light fast puncture resistance would be best, I bet pure speed ones wouldn't be good for commuting.

These would be more for speed I'm guessing, and gaterskin's more for puncture
Yep I use the GPS 4000s (not ii) for summer use and schwalbe durano pluses in the winter.

I don't know re. puncture resistance, my front gatorskin 23c has done 10,000 miles without a puncture, the rear i got at the same time didn't fair so well two pinch punctures, the last taking a chunk of rubber out of the tyre, having said that it still ran a few hundred miles, the new rear 25c fitted end of June has done over 3,500 miles without incident, so I can say they are pretty resistant.
