What demonstrable advantage comes from the QWERTY layout of your keyboard?
It came from morse code translation ;) But then yes
Tradition (inertia) is very hard to overcome.
Tradition and becoming standard
I accept the idea that Felt and US Cycling have not supplied evidence to prove the change was beneficial. I do not assert it made for an improvement. I reject the assertion made by many, here and elsewhere, that the change made no difference. We cannot tell. We have no data either way.
Without any performance improvement that can be proven. Like oval chain rings. I believe it was done purely for marketing. Look at how many people are talking about them  That will be more important for Felt than being marginally faster, and would be a far cheaper end goal too.

US Cycling will benefit from getting the stuff for free so they won't be too fussed. Plus, if the athletes BELIEVE it makes them faster, there's a good chance that they will go faster from placebo too, that affect has been proven in other scenarios. So technically it means it works?

You're not comparing like with like. USA Cycling gets significant non-financial support and subsidy that you aren't taking into account. It's about more than simple $ income.
You're not comparing like with like, as British Cycling also get non-financial support and subsidy that I'm not taking into account, but that doesn't really help either with the stuff they need to pay for. I know it's about more than simple $ income, but I suspect the disparity in $ income isn't remedied by the non-financials.

What QWERTY layout? ;)

American rider Bobby Lea just did the flying lap in the Omnium on a Cervelo rather than the Felt.

The Mexican rider Prado used an older Felt, with the drivetrain on te right, and was slower than Lea.

All of which proves absolutely nothing, of course.

Eff off chai rings were mentioned, what gearing are these nutters pushing? Apologies for this almost certainly being the wrong place to ask

Have decided that in order to keep my aerodynamics balanced I am going to fit a drive chain on both sides. Also expecting from simple maths that I should go twice as fast

Aero would surely be better if you had no chainrings?

I wonder if they've tried that yet.

Possibly a marginal gain in IP, TP or F200/250 events - but pointless in bunch racing. In fact, the marginal gains were so marginal that they didn't appear to benefit the yanks at all. Will be interesting to see if anyone is still using these bikes at the next world cup round.

I'd have to look in my copy of "The Dancing Chain" but I'm pretty sure that there were bikes (or at least one attempt) with two drive trains, one on each side. There was an explosion of experimentation, including some crazy ideas. "Retro direct" (pedal forwards for one gear, backwards for another gear) was a relatively normal setup at the time.

I notice Sarah Hammer was using an ordinary right way round bike for her flying lap in the omnium. So are they just using the funny bikes for certain events?
