These are old fashioned ones. Their bank books & I don't have either of them. Both opened with the same bank, seperate branches however.
If you don't see me on here for a while, I've found them.

I always work on the principle that any e-mail or internet communication is the digital equivalent of sending a postcard.

Not a big fan of buying stuff online then, I take it? Nor, I suppose, of making phone calls that might be routed using VoIP

To be honest, sending stuff by normal email, although in theory it's very easy to hack and read, is probably more secure than normal snail mail, especially bearing in mind that Royal Mail catch nearly 500 postal workers every year stealing mail, and lose 250,000 letters every week.

That's why I get annoyed with firms which insist on switching to secure email even for routine things - they're a real pain to access, and remember the login details and it drastically increases the time taken to get to the information.

I think you missed the scare quotes around "secure" there. I'm quite sure that whatever combination of "mother's maiden name", "first make of pet" or "where my car went to school" secures my online banking is much more readily available than the strong password I chose - and can remember by virtue of using it daily - for my regular web-based email

Simplest explanation. IF you have a secret, the only way to keep it is to not tell anyone. That includes friends, significant other, sexual partner, or guy in pub. Do anything else and it is in the public domain.
