I did that the same way. I'm pretty sure the day I did it, it was very sunny and the sun was in my eyes, so I never saw any private signs.

Didn't quite go to plan, as I missed the bridle-way to do the Priors Hardwick square:

and some barsteward has built a massive white elephant of a railway through the upper one - below. You can see as far as I got; will give it another go on another day from the track in the top left, trouble was it's about 9 miles to get to the other side of it by road
